For small Xero bookkeeping practices

A clearer list.
A calmer close.

Prepare a monthly client request list for supporting documents, with each request reviewed by you.

Keep the documents where they already live. Set aside known exceptions. Give clients a short, specific list—not another spreadsheet to decipher.

In development. The sample uses invented records; it does not connect to Xero.

THE PROPOSED WORKFLOW

Find the gaps.
Keep the context.

01 / FIND

Start with transactions recorded in Xero.

The planned read-only connection checks approved or paid purchase bills and spend money transactions for attachment status. It uses transaction dates for the selected month; it does not check every bank statement line or reconcile accounts.

02 / REVIEW

Decide what really needs asking.

A missing attachment isn’t always a missing document. Mark externally held files, known exceptions and items that still need investigation.

03 / HAND OVER

Share a list you stand behind.

Export the reviewed requests. You choose how and when to send them to your client. Nothing is sent automatically.

A SMALL, HANDS-ON SAMPLE

What would you ask
this client for?

Five invented records. Make the review decisions, then download a list of the documents you would request. No account or financial data needed.

Review all three open items before exporting.

This is a demonstration, not a live accounting report. An attachment’s presence does not prove the document is sufficient. A live request list would also need complete, current coverage of the supported transaction types.

A SMALLER JOB, DONE CLEARLY

A focused monthly
document review.

Tidy Rook is being designed for practices that already have a way to store documents, but still rebuild their monthly request lists by hand.

Already happy with Xero or Dext’s document workflow? You may not need another tool. Tidy Rook focuses on preparing a reviewed client request list.

  • No document migration proposed
  • No bookkeeping or tax decisions made for you
  • No promise that “no attachment” means “no receipt”

A note on privacy

The sample uses invented data. Records and review choices stay in your browser. We count anonymous daily sample actions, such as completed reviews, request-list exports and early-access clicks, to improve the product. These counts contain no names, amounts, review text or visitor identifiers. There are no uploads, accounts, tracking cookies or third-party analytics on this page. We honor browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. Reloading resets your choices. Our hosting provider processes web requests. If you email us, we use your message to respond; don’t send client documents or financial records. Ask hello@tidyrook.com to delete your inquiry.
